Method

Burger Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Burger Patties

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently with your hands until just combined. Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape into patties.

  2. 2

    Cook the Patties

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Place the patties on the grill and cook for about 3-4 minutes on one side. Flip the patties and place a slice of cheddar cheese on each. Cook for another 3-4 minutes, or until the cheese melts and the burgers reach your desired level of doneness.

  3. 3

    Assemble the Burgers

Lightly toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster. On each bottom bun, layer a lettuce leaf, the cooked burger patty with melted cheese, a slice of tomato (sliced), pickles, ketchup, and mustard. Top with the other half of the bun.

Fries Directions

  1. 4

    Prepare the Potatoes

Wash and peel the large potatoes. Cut them into thin strips to resemble fries. Soak the cut potatoes in cold water for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch.

  2. 5

    Fry the Potatoes

Heat the vegetable oil in a deep fryer or a large pot to 350°F (175°C). Carefully add the soaked and drained potato strips in batches to the hot oil. Fry for about 4-5 minutes until golden brown and crispy.

  3. 6

    Season the Fries

Using a slotted spoon, remove the fries from the oil and drain on paper towels. Season with salt to taste while they are still hot.
