Chocolate Mousse

Method

Prepare the Mousse

1

Melt the Chocolate

In a microwave-safe bowl, add the milk chocolate chips. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring between each interval until the chocolate is completely melted and smooth. Set aside to cool slightly.

2

Whip the Cream

In a separate mixing bowl, pour in the heavy whipping cream. Using an electric mixer, whip the cream on medium speed until soft peaks form.

3

Combine Mixtures

Gently fold the melted chocolate into the whipped cream. Be careful not to deflate the cream. Add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract, and continue to fold until fully integrated and smooth.

4

Chill the Mousse

Spoon the chocolate mousse into serving cups or glasses, filling them about 3/4 full. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour or until set.

Prepare the Topping

5

Prepare the Strawberries

Wash the fresh strawberries thoroughly under cool water. Remove the green tops and slice each strawberry in half, or leave them whole for a more elegant presentation.

6

Garnish the Mousse

Once the mousse has set, remove the cups from the refrigerator. Top each mousse cup with the prepared strawberries and, if desired, a mint leaf for garnish.
