Falafel Preparation Steps

Soak the Chickpeas
Place the dried chickpeas in a bowl and cover them with water. Let them soak overnight or for at least 8 hours.

Form the Falafel Balls
Using your hands, form the mixture into small balls or patties, about 1.5 inches in diameter.

Chill the Falafel
Place the formed falafel balls on a baking sheet and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to firm up.

Fry the Falafel
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Fry the falafel in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes on each side.

Serve
Remove the falafel from the skillet and drain on paper towels. Serve hot with tahini sauce, pita bread, or salad.
