Prepare the nuts
In a mixing bowl, combine the chopped walnuts, chopped pistachios, sugar, and ground cinnamon. Set aside.

Prepare the phyllo dough
Thaw the phyllo dough according to package instructions. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

Add the nut mixture
Spread a layer of the nut mixture over the buttered phyllo sheets. Continue layering, alternating between phyllo and nut mixture, until all the nuts are used, finishing with at least 8-10 layers of phyllo on top.

Cut the baklava
Using a sharp knife, cut the baklava into diamond or square shapes.

Bake the baklava
Bake in preheated oven for about 45-50 minutes, or until golden brown and crisp.

Soak the baklava
Once the baklava is done baking, remove it from the oven and pour the syrup evenly over the hot baklava. Let it cool completely before serving.
