Preparation Instructions

  1. 1

    Cook the Rice

In a medium pot, cook the rice with 2 cups of water until tender. Drain and set aside.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Milk Mixture

In a large saucepan, combine the milk, sugar, vanilla extract, cornstarch, and salt. Whisk the mixture over medium heat until it begins to thicken.

  3. 3

    Combine Ingredients

Once thickened, remove from heat and let it cool slightly. Stir in the cooked rice and beaten eggs until well combined.

  4. 4

    Bake

Pour the mixture into a greased baking dish and sprinkle ground cinnamon on top. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 30-40 minutes or until set and lightly golden on top.

  5. 5

    Cool and Serve

Allow the sutlac to cool before serving. It can be served warm or chilled, and is best topped with extra cinnamon.
