Method
Preparing the Beef Patty
- 1
Mix the Ingredients
In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently until just combined to avoid overworking the meat.
- 2
Form the Patty
Shape the mixture into a round patty about 3/4 inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of the patty with your thumb to help it cook evenly.
- 3
- 4
Add Cheese
Flip the patty over and immediately place a slice of cheddar cheese on top. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the patty reaches your desired doneness.
Assembling the Cheeseburger
- 5
Prepare the Bun
While the patty is cooking, lightly toast the burger bun in a separate skillet or toaster until golden brown.
- 6
Layer the Ingredients
On the bottom half of the toasted bun, place a leaf of lettuce followed by the cheeseburger patty with melted cheese.
- 7
- 8
Finish Assembling
Place the top half of the bun over the toppings to complete the cheeseburger. Serve immediately.
