Cheese Curds

Ranch Dressing

Method

Cheese Curds Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Coating

In a large bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, baking powder, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder until evenly mixed.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Buttermilk Mixture

In another bowl, pour the buttermilk. This will be used to dip the cheese curds before coating.

  3. 3

    Heat the Oil

In a deep pot or fryer, heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C). Use enough oil to fully submerge the cheese curds.

  4. 4

    Coat the Cheese Curds

Dip each cheese curd into the buttermilk, allowing excess to drip off. Then, roll the cheese curd in the flour mixture until fully coated. Repeat for all curds.

  5. 5

    Fry the Cheese Curds

Carefully place the coated cheese curds in the hot oil, frying in batches to avoid overcrowding. Fry for about 2-3 minutes or until golden brown. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.

Ranch Dressing Preparation

  1. 6

    Mix the Ingredients

In a medium bowl, combine mayonnaise, sour cream, buttermilk, dried dill, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until smooth.

  2. 7

    Chill the Dressing

Cover the ranch dressing and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to let the flavors meld.
