Method
Tortilla Chips Preparation
- 1
Cut and Fry Tortillas
Stack the corn tortillas and cut them into quarters to create triangle shapes. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- 2
Fry the Chips
Once the oil is hot, carefully add a handful of tortilla triangles at a time. Fry for about 2-3 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. Remove the chips with a slotted spoon and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil.
- 3
Season the Chips
While the chips are still hot, sprinkle salt over them to taste.
Assemble the Nachos
- 4
Layer the Nachos
On a large serving platter, spread out a layer of your house-made tortilla chips.
- 5
Add Black Beans
Evenly distribute the black beans over the chips.
- 6
Sprinkle Cheese
Generously sprinkle the cheddar cheese over the chips and beans.
- 7
Add Jalapeños
Top the nachos with pickled jalapeños for some heat.
- 8
Drizzle Salsa
Finally, drizzle the house-made salsa over the entire platter.
