Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Preheat the oven

Preheat your oven to 200°C (390°F) and prepare six ramekins by greasing them with butter and dusting them with flour.

  2. 2

    Melt chocolate and butter

In a heatproof bowl, combine the dark chocolate and unsalted butter. Melt them together over a double boiler or in the microwave, stirring until smooth.

  3. 3

    Mix sugar and eggs

In a separate bowl, whisk together the sugar and eggs until the mixture becomes pale and frothy.

  4. 4

    Combine mixtures

Gradually add the melted chocolate mixture to the egg-sugar mixture, stirring continuously. Add the vanilla extract and a pinch of salt.

  5. 5

    Fold in flour

Sift the all-purpose flour into the chocolate mixture and fold gently until just combined.

  6. 6

    Fill ramekins

Pour the batter evenly into the prepared ramekins, filling them about 3/4 full.

  7. 7

    Bake

Bake in the preheated oven for about 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set but the center is still soft.

  8. 8

    Serve

Let the fondants cool for 1 minute, then invert them onto plates. Serve immediately with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
