Bruschetta Ingredients

Method

Bruschetta Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Bread

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Slice the baguette or Italian bread into 1/2 inch thick slices and place them on a baking sheet.

  2. 2

    Toast the Bread

Drizzle the bread slices with olive oil and toast in the preheated oven for about 5-7 minutes, or until golden brown and crisp.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Topping

While the bread is toasting, dice the fresh tomatoes and place them in a bowl. Tear the basil leaves into smaller pieces and add them to the bowl. Cube the mozzarella cheese and add it as well.

  4. 4

    Mix the Topping

Drizzle the balsamic vinegar and remaining olive oil over the tomato mixture. Season with salt and black pepper to taste, and toss everything together gently.

  5. 5

    Assemble the Bruschetta

Once the bread is toasted, remove it from the oven and let it cool slightly. Spoon the tomato mixture generously onto each slice of bread.

  6. 6

    Serve

Serve immediately as an appetizer or snack, garnished with additional basil if desired.
