Method
Prepare Coffee Mixture

Brew Coffee
Brew 200 ml of espresso or strong coffee and let it cool slightly.

Sweeten Coffee
Add 2 tablespoons of sugar to the warm coffee and stir until dissolved.
Prepare Mascarpone Mixture

Whisk Egg Yolks
In a mixing bowl, whisk together 3 egg yolks until they are pale and creamy.

Add Mascarpone
Add 500 g of mascarpone cheese to the whisked egg yolks and mix until smooth.

Whip Heavy Cream
In another bowl, whip 200 ml of heavy cream until soft peaks form.

Combine Mixtures
Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture along with 100 g of powdered sugar and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.
Assemble Tiramisu

Soak Ladyfingers
Quickly dip each ladyfinger cookie into the sweetened coffee for about 1 second, making sure not to soak them too long.

Layer in Dish
Arrange half of the soaked ladyfingers in a single layer at the bottom of a rectangular or square dish.

Add Mascarpone Layer
Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers in an even layer.

Repeat Layers
Repeat the process with the remaining ladyfingers and mascarpone mixture for the second layer.

Dust with Cocoa
Sift 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder over the top of the assembled tiramisu.
Chill and Serve

Chill
Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight.

Slice into portions and serve chilled, garnished with additional cocoa powder if desired.
