Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Marinade

In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, minced garlic, lemon juice, chopped dill, salt, and black pepper until well combined.

  2. 2

    Marinate the Salmon

Place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish or a resealable plastic bag. Pour the marinade over the salmon, ensuring all pieces are well-coated. Cover the dish or seal the bag and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for more flavor.

Grilling

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (about 375°F to 400°F). If using a charcoal grill, prepare the coals until they are covered with gray ash.

  2. 4

    Grill the Salmon

Remove the salmon from the marinade and discard the marinade. Place the salmon fillets skin-side down on the grill grates. Close the lid and grill for about 6-8 minutes, depending on the thickness of the fillets.

  3. 5

    Check for Doneness

Carefully flip the salmon fillets using a spatula and grill for an additional 4-6 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C) and the salmon flakes easily with a fork.

Serving

  1. 6

    Plate and Garnish

Once cooked, remove the salmon from the grill and let it rest for a couple of minutes. Serve on a plate with optional lemon slices and extra dill sprigs for garnish.
