Method

Cooking the Pasta

  1. 1

    Boil Water

Fill a large pot with water and bring it to a boil. Add a pinch of salt to the water.

  2. 2

    Cook the Penne

Add the penne pasta to the boiling water and cook according to package instructions, usually about 10-12 minutes, until al dente.

  3. 3

    Drain the Pasta

Once cooked, drain the pasta in a colander and set aside.

Making the Sauce

  1. 4

    Heat the Olive Oil

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.

  2. 5

    Sauté the Garlic

Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.

  3. 6

    Add the Peppers

Stir in the diced red and yellow bell peppers and cook for 3-4 minutes until they start to soften.

  4. 7

    Incorporate Cherry Tomatoes

Add the halved cherry tomatoes to the skillet and cook for another 4-5 minutes until they soften and release their juices.

  5. 8

    Season the Sauce

Stir in the chopped basil, salt, and black pepper to taste. Mix well and cook for an additional 2 minutes.

Combining

  1. 9

    Combine Pasta and Sauce

Add the drained penne pasta to the skillet with the sauce. Toss everything together gently until the pasta is well coated.

  2. 10
