Chicken Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Chicken
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Season both sides of the chicken breasts with salt and black pepper.
- 2
Bread the Chicken
Set up a breading station with three shallow bowls. In the first bowl, place the flour. In the second bowl, beat the eggs. In the third bowl, mix the breadcrumbs and grated Parmesan cheese. Dredge each chicken breast in the flour, shaking off excess, then dip into the eggs, and finally coat with the breadcrumb mixture. Ensure each piece is thoroughly coated.
Cooking
- 3
Fry the Chicken
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the breaded chicken breasts and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, until golden brown and cooked through. Remove the chicken from the skillet and place on a paper towel to drain excess oil.
- 4
Add Toppings
In a baking dish, place the fried chicken breasts. Spoon marinara sauce over each piece, and sprinkle with shredded mozzarella cheese. Add fresh basil leaves on top.
- 5
Bake
Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Serving
- 6
Serve
Remove from the oven, let cool for a few minutes, and serve hot with pasta or a side salad.
