Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Chicken

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Season each chicken breast with salt and black pepper on both sides.

  2. 2

    Dredge in Flour

Place the all-purpose flour in a shallow dish. Dredge each seasoned chicken breast in the flour, shaking off any excess.

  3. 3

    Egg Wash

In a separate bowl, whisk the eggs. Dip each flour-coated chicken breast into the egg, allowing excess to drip off.

  4. 4

    Coat with Bread Crumbs

Place the bread crumbs in another shallow dish. Coat each chicken breast with the bread crumbs, pressing gently to adhere.

Cooking

  1. 5

    Fry the Chicken

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Once hot, add the breaded chicken breasts and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side or until golden brown. Remove from skillet and drain on paper towels.

  2. 6

    Assemble the Dish

In a baking dish, spread a thin layer of marinara sauce on the bottom. Place the fried chicken breasts on top of the sauce. Spoon additional marinara sauce over each piece of chicken.

  3. 7

    Add Cheese

Sprinkle mozzarella cheese evenly over the chicken, followed by the grated Parmesan cheese. Add fresh basil on top.

Baking

  1. 8

    Bake the Chicken Parm

Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the chicken is cooked through.

  2. 9

    Serve

Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Serve hot, garnished with extra basil if desired.
