Cooking Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Ingredients
Chop the tomatoes, mince the garlic, and roughly chop the basil leaves.
- 2
Cook the Spaghetti
In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- 3
Make the Tomato Sauce
In a large skillet, heat the extra virgin olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant. Add the chopped tomatoes, and season with salt and black pepper. Cook for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens.
- 4
Combine and Serve
Add the cooked spaghetti to the skillet with the tomato sauce. Toss to combine, adding a bit of pasta water if necessary to loosen the sauce. Stir in the fresh basil just before serving.
- 5
Garnish and Enjoy
Serve the spaghetti hot, garnished with additional basil and a drizzle of olive oil if desired.
