Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare Hominy

Rinse the dried hominy under cold water, then soak it in water overnight or for at least 8 hours.

  2. 2

    Cook the Pork

In a large pot, add the pork shoulder, soaked hominy, 10 cups of water, minced garlic, chopped onion, salt, chili powder, and oregano. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for about 2 hours, or until the pork is tender.

  3. 3

    Shred the Pork

Once the pork is tender, remove it from the pot, shred it with two forks, and return it to the soup.

  4. 4

    Add Vegetables

Stir in the shredded cabbage and let it cook for another 10-15 minutes until the cabbage is tender.

  5. 5

    Serve

Ladle the pozole soup into bowls, and garnish with sliced radishes, lime wedges, and chopped cilantro.
