Pineapple Syrup

Method

Pineapple Syrup Preparation

  1. 1

    Make Pineapple Syrup

In a medium saucepan, combine the chopped fresh pineapples, granulated sugar, and water. Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally.

  2. 2

    Simmer the Mixture

Reduce the heat to low and let the mixture simmer for about 15-20 minutes, or until the pineapples are soft and the sugar has dissolved completely.

  3. 3

    Strain the Syrup

Remove the saucepan from heat and let it cool slightly. Strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a bowl to separate the syrup from the pineapple solids.

  4. 4

    Add Lime Juice

Stir in the lime juice to the strained syrup. Allow it to cool completely before using.

Soda Assembly

  1. 5

    Combine Ingredients

In a large pitcher, combine the cooled pineapple syrup with the carbonated water, natural pineapple flavoring, citric acid, and preservative if using.

  2. 6

    Mix Well

Stir the mixture gently to combine all the ingredients without losing the carbonation.

  3. 7

    Serve

Pour the pineapple soda into glasses filled with ice, and enjoy your homemade Jarritos - Pineapple!
