Method

Chips

  1. 1

    Prepare the Corn Tortillas

Cut each corn tortilla into 6 triangles to create chip shapes.

  2. 2

    Heat the Oil

In a large pot or deep skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  3. 3

    Fry the Chips

Carefully add the tortilla triangles to the hot oil in batches, frying them for 2-3 minutes until they are golden brown and crispy.

  4. 4

    Drain and Season

Using a slotted spoon, remove the chips from the oil and place them on paper towels to drain. Sprinkle with salt while still hot.

Salsa

  1. 5

    Chop the Vegetables

Dice the tomatoes, onion, and jalapeño pepper finely and place them in a mixing bowl.

  2. 6

    Add Cilantro and Seasoning

Chop the cilantro and add it to the bowl. Then, add lime juice, salt, and black pepper. Mix everything together.

  3. 7

    Taste and Adjust

Taste the salsa and adjust the seasoning if necessary, adding more salt or lime juice to your preference.

  4. 8

    Let it Rest

Let the salsa sit for at least 15 minutes at room temperature to allow the flavors to meld together.
