Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ingredients

Finely chop the onion, carrot, celery, and garlic.

  2. 2

    Cook the Vegetables

In a large pan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion, carrot, celery, and garlic. Sauté until softened, about 5 minutes.

  3. 3

    Brown the Meat

Add the ground beef to the pan and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon, about 7-10 minutes.

  4. 4

    Add Tomatoes and Seasoning

Stir in the canned tomatoes, tomato paste, and dried oregano. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.

  5. 5

    Simmer the Sauce

Reduce the heat to low, cover the pan, and let the sauce simmer for at least 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  6. 6

    Cook the Spaghetti

While the sauce simmers, cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

  7. 7

    Combine and Serve

Toss the cooked spaghetti with the Bolognese sauce. Serve hot, topped with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
