Flan Ingredients

Method

Flan Directions

  1. 1

    Make the Caramel

In a medium saucepan, heat the granulated sugar over medium heat, stirring constantly until it melts and turns a deep amber color. Be careful not to burn it. Quickly pour the caramel into a round flan mold or individual ramekins, tilting to coat the bottom evenly. Set aside to cool and harden.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Flan Mixture

In a blender, combine the eggs, sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, and vanilla extract. Blend until smooth and well combined.

  3. 3

    Combine and Bake

Pour the flan mixture over the cooled caramel in the mold. Place the mold in a larger baking dish and fill the baking dish with hot water until it reaches halfway up the sides of the flan mold. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 50-60 minutes, or until the flan is set but still slightly jiggly in the center.

  4. 4

    Cool and Serve

Remove the flan from the water bath and let it cool to room temperature. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight. To serve, run a knife around the edges of the flan, invert it onto a serving plate, and enjoy!
