Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Rice

In a pot, cook rice according to package instructions. Set aside once done.

  2. 2

    Cook the Steak

Season the steak with salt and black pepper. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat with olive oil. Cook the steak for about 4-6 minutes on each side for medium-rare, depending on thickness. Remove from heat and let it rest.

  3. 3

    Sauté Vegetables

In the same skillet, add sliced onions and mushrooms. Sauté until softened, about 5 minutes. Add diced poblano and minced garlic, cooking until fragrant, about 2 more minutes.

  4. 4

    Make the Cream Sauce

Reduce heat to low and add heavy cream to the skillet, stirring to combine. Let it simmer for a few minutes until thickened. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper.

  5. 5

    Serve

Slice the rested steak against the grain. Serve over rice topped with sautéed vegetables and creamy poblano garlic sauce. Garnish with cilantro.
