Lasagna Bolognese Ingredients

Method

Lasagna Bolognese Directions

1

Prepare the Bolognese Sauce

In a large pan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion, carrot, and celery. Sauté until softened, about 5 minutes. Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.

2

Increase the heat to medium-high, add ground beef and ground pork. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon.

3

Stir in the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, red wine, salt, and black pepper. Simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.

4

Prepare the Béchamel Sauce

In a saucepan, melt 50g of butter over medium heat. Stir in 50g of flour and cook for 1-2 minutes. Gradually whisk in the milk, cooking until thickened. Season with salt and nutmeg to taste.

5

Layer the Lasagna

In a baking dish, spread a layer of Bolognese sauce at the bottom. Place 3 sheets of lasagna over it. Spread a layer of Béchamel sauce, then sprinkle with mozzarella cheese.

6

Repeat the layers two more times, finishing with a layer of Béchamel and a generous sprinkle of Parmigiano cheese on top.

7

Bake the Lasagna

Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Bake the lasagna for 30-35 minutes, or until golden and bubbly. Let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
