Doughnut Preparation

Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and nutmeg.

Combine Wet Ingredients

In another bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, vanilla extract, and melted butter.

Combine Mixtures

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.

Heat Oil

In a deep pot, heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).

Fry Doughnuts

Scoop the dough into a doughnut cutter and fry in the hot oil until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes on each side. Drain on paper towels.

Mix Ingredients

In a bowl, combine softened butter, maple syrup, and sea salt. Whip until smooth and creamy.

Chocolate Sauce Preparation

Heat Cream

In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat until it just begins to simmer.

Melt Chocolate

Remove from heat and add the chocolate chips, stirring until smooth and fully melted.
