Method

Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Activate Yeast

In a small bowl, combine warm milk and active dry yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, and salt.

  3. 3

    Combine Ingredients

Add the activated yeast mixture, softened butter, and eggs to the dry ingredients. Mix until a dough forms.

  4. 4

    Knead Dough

Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.

  5. 5

    First Rise

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Filling and Shaping

  1. 6

    Prepare Filling

While the dough is rising, prepare the filling by mixing fresh fruits with powdered sugar in a bowl.

  2. 7

    Shape Pastries

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out to about 1/2 inch thickness. Cut into squares or triangles. Place a spoonful of filling in the center and fold over to create a muffin or croissant shape.

Final Steps

  1. 8

    Second Rise

Place shaped pastries on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes.

  2. 9

    Egg Wash and Bake

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Brush the pastries with beaten egg wash and sprinkle with sesame or poppy seeds. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.

  3. 10

    Cool and Serve

Remove from the oven and let cool on a wire rack. Serve warm or at room temperature.
