Method

Preparing Shrimp

  1. 1

    Setup Breading Station

In three separate bowls, set up your breading station: one with all-purpose flour, one with cornstarch, and one with whisked eggs. Season the flour with salt and black pepper.

  2. 2

    Bread the Shrimp

Dip each shrimp first into the flour, then into the egg, and finally into the cornstarch to create a crispy coating. Set aside on a plate.

Frying Shrimp

  1. 3

    Heat Oil

In a large pot or deep frying pan, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  2. 4

    Fry the Shrimp

Carefully add the breaded shrimp in batches to the hot oil. Fry for about 3-4 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove with a slotted spoon and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.

Making Chili Sauce

  1. 5

    Combine Sauce Ingredients

In a bowl, mix together chili garlic sauce, honey, soy sauce, and rice vinegar until well combined.

  2. 6

    Toss Shrimp in Sauce

In a large bowl, pour the spicy chili sauce over the fried shrimp and toss gently to coat all shrimp evenly.

Assembling the Dish

  1. 7

    Plate the Firecracker Shrimp

On a serving platter, arrange the sauced Firecracker Shrimp. Top with diced avocado, charred corn, sliced cucumber, tortilla strips, and sliced green onions.

  2. 8

    Serve

Serve immediately while hot and crispy, allowing guests to enjoy the vibrant flavors and textures.
