Method

Biscuit Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt. Whisk together until well blended.

  3. 3

    Cut in Butter

Add the unsalted butter (cut into small cubes) to the flour mixture. Use a pastry cutter or your fingers to mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

  4. 4

    Add Milk

Pour the milk into the mixture and stir gently until just combined. Do not overmix.

Assembling the Stuffed Biscuits

  1. 5

    Prepare the Dough

Turn the dough out onto a floured surface. Gently knead the dough just until it comes together. Pat it into a rectangle about 1 inch thick.

  2. 6

    Cut the Biscuits

Using a biscuit cutter or a glass, cut out circles from the dough. Gather scraps, knead again, and cut out more biscuits until all dough is used.

  3. 7

    Add Filling

Take one biscuit circle and place a slice of American cheese on top. Add a generous amount of shredded pulled pork and crumbled sausage, then top with another slice of cheese. Place another biscuit circle on top to create a sandwich.

Grilling the Biscuits

  1. 8

    Heat the Skillet

In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.

  2. 9

    Grill the Biscuits

Once the butter is melted and bubbling, add the stuffed biscuits to the skillet. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on one side until golden brown, then carefully flip and cook for another 3-4 minutes on the other side.

  3. 10

    Serve

Once both sides are golden brown and the cheese is melted, remove from skillet and let cool slightly before serving.
