Grilled Cheese

Method

Preparing the BBQ Sauce

  1. 1

    Make the BBQ Sauce

In a medium bowl, combine ketchup, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until smooth and well combined.

Preparing the Grilled Cheese

  1. 2

    Prepare the Boudin

Remove the boudin sausage from its casing. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the boudin for about 5-7 minutes, breaking it apart with a spoon until it’s heated through and slightly crispy. Set aside.

  2. 3

    Assemble the Sandwich

Butter one side of each slice of bread. On the unbuttered side of one slice, layer two slices of American cheese, followed by the cooked boudin, and topped with the other two slices of cheese. Place the second slice of bread on top, buttered side facing out.

  3. 4

    Grill the Sandwich

Heat a skillet over medium heat. Place the assembled sandwich in the skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted.

Serving

  1. 5

    Serve

Remove the grilled cheese sandwich from the skillet and let it cool for a minute. Slice the sandwich in half and serve it warm with the homemade BBQ sauce on the side for dipping.
