Method

Sausage Preparation

  1. 1

    Make the Sausage Mixture

In a large bowl, combine the ground pork, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, black pepper, and brown sugar. Mix well until all ingredients are fully incorporated.

  2. 2

    Stuff the Sausage (Optional)

If using casings, rinse them under cold water and stuff the sausage mixture into the casings, tying them off with kitchen twine. If not using casings, simply form the mixture into sausage patties.

  3. 3

    Cook the Sausages

Heat a skillet or grill over medium heat. Cook the sausages for 6-8 minutes on each side until fully cooked and golden brown. If using patties, cook until they reach an internal temperature of 75°C (165°F).

BBQ Sauce Preparation

  1. 4

    Make the BBQ Sauce

In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine ketchup, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Stir well and bring to a simmer. Cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally until thickened.

Sandwich Assembly

  1. 5

    Assemble the Sandwich

Slice the burger buns in half. Place a cooked sausage on the bottom half of each bun. Generously drizzle with BBQ sauce and top with the other half of the bun.

  2. 6

    Serve

Arrange the sandwiches on a plate with chips and a bowl of fruits on the side. Include a Capri Sun or a bottle of water for each serving.
