Brisket

Method

Brisket Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Marinade

In a small bowl, mix together smoked paprika, black pepper, salt, brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce to create a marinade.

  2. 2

    Marinate the Brisket

Rub the marinade all over the beef brisket, ensuring it's evenly coated. Let it sit for at least 30 minutes, preferably overnight in the refrigerator for better flavor.

  3. 3

    Sear the Brisket

In a large skillet over medium-high heat, sear the brisket on both sides until browned, about 4-5 minutes per side. Transfer to a slow cooker.

  4. 4

    Add Remaining Ingredients

In the slow cooker, add chopped onion, minced garlic, beef broth, and bay leaves. Ensure the brisket is submerged in the liquid.

  5. 5

    Cook the Brisket

Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours, or until tender and easily shredded with a fork.

Sides Preparation

  1. 6

    Prepare the Mashed Potatoes

Place the cubed potatoes in a large pot and cover with water. Bring to a boil and cook until tender, about 15-20 minutes.

  2. 7

    Mash the Potatoes

Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Add butter, milk, and salt. Mash until smooth and creamy.

  3. 8

    Cook the Green Beans

In a separate pot, bring water to a boil and add the trimmed green beans. Cook for 4-5 minutes until bright green and tender. Drain.

  4. 9

    Sauté the Green Beans

In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the cooked green beans, season with black pepper, and sauté for 2-3 minutes.
