Method
Bread Pudding Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Bread
Tear the day-old bread into bite-sized pieces and place them in a large mixing bowl.
- 2
Mix the Wet Ingredients
In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and salt until well combined.
- 3
Combine Ingredients
Pour the wet mixture over the torn bread, ensuring all pieces are thoroughly soaked. Add the raisins and chopped pecans, and gently fold them into the mixture.
- 4
Bake the Bread Pudding
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish and pour the bread mixture into it. Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.
Praline Sauce Preparation
- 5
Cook the Sauce
In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the brown sugar, heavy cream, and unsalted butter. Stir continuously until the mixture comes to a boil.
- 6
Simmer and Thicken
Allow the mixture to simmer for 5-7 minutes, stirring frequently until it thickens slightly.
- 7
Add Flavor
Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract and chopped pecans. Let the sauce cool slightly before serving.
