Lasagna Ingredients

Method

Preparation Steps

  1. 1

    Cook the Meat Sauce

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and minced garlic, sauté for 2-3 minutes until translucent. Add ground beef, cook until browned. Stir in tomato sauce, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 15 minutes.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Cheese Mixture

In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese, grated Parmesan cheese, egg, and a pinch of salt. Stir until well combined.

  3. 3

    Cook the Lasagna Noodles

Boil a large pot of salted water. Add lasagna noodles and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

  4. 4

    Assemble the Lasagna

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). In a baking dish, spread a layer of meat sauce, followed by a layer of noodles, then a layer of the cheese mixture. Repeat the layers, finishing with meat sauce and a generous topping of mozzarella cheese.

  5. 5

    Bake

Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the top is golden and bubbly.

  6. 6

    Serve

Let the lasagna rest for 10 minutes before slicing. Serve hot and enjoy!
