Meatballs

Method

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Meatballs

In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan, egg, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.

  2. 2

    Form the Meatballs

Shape the mixture into meatballs, about the size of a golf ball. Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  3. 3

    Cook the Meatballs

Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F). Bake the meatballs for 20-25 minutes, until browned and cooked through.

  4. 4

    Make the Tomato Sauce

In a large saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and minced garlic, sauté until translucent.

  5. 5

    Add Tomatoes and Seasonings

Stir in crushed tomatoes, oregano, basil, salt, black pepper, and sugar. Simmer for 20 minutes to combine flavors.

  6. 6

    Combine Meatballs with Sauce

Add the baked meatballs to the sauce, and simmer for another 10 minutes.

  7. 7

    Cook the Spaghetti

While the sauce is simmering, cook spaghetti in a large pot of salted boiling water according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.

  8. 8

    Serve

Serve the meatballs and sauce over the spaghetti, garnished with additional Parmesan and parsley if desired.
