Method

Cooking Pasta

  1. 1

    Boil Macaroni

In a large pot, bring water to a boil. Add salt and macaroni, cooking according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Making Cheese Sauce

  1. 2

    Prepare Roux

In a large saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Once melted, whisk in the flour and cook for about 1-2 minutes until golden.

  2. 3

    Add Milk

Gradually whisk in the milk, continuing to stir until the mixture thickens and begins to bubble, about 3-5 minutes.

  3. 4

    Incorporate Cheese

Remove from heat and add Gruyère, Pepper Jack, Cheddar, Parmesan, and Blue cheese. Stir until all cheeses are melted and the sauce is smooth.

  4. 5

    Season Sauce

Add black pepper and garlic powder to taste, mixing well.

  5. 6

    Combine Pasta and Sauce

Fold the cooked macaroni into the cheese sauce until evenly coated.

Baking

  1. 7

    Prepare Topping

In a small bowl, mix breadcrumbs with melted butter and grated Parmesan cheese.

  2. 8

    Assemble and Bake

Transfer the mac and cheese mixture into a greased baking dish. Evenly sprinkle the breadcrumb mixture on top. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 25-30 minutes until the top is golden brown and bubbly.

  3. 9

    Serve

Remove from oven, let cool for a few minutes, then serve warm.
