BBQ Sauce (Joe's BBQ Sauce)

Preparing the Chicken

Season the Chicken
Pat the whole chicken dry with paper towels. Rub the salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika all over the chicken, including inside the cavity.

Prepare for Rotisserie
Truss the chicken's legs with kitchen twine and tuck the wing tips under the chicken to prevent burning.
Making Joe's BBQ Sauce

Combine Ingredients
In a medium saucepan, combine ketchup, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper.

Cook the Sauce
Heat the saucepan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a simmer. Reduce heat to low and let it cook for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally until thickened.
Cooking the Chicken

Preheat the Rotisserie
Preheat your rotisserie grill according to the manufacturer's instructions.

Cook the Chicken
Place the seasoned chicken onto the rotisserie spit and secure it tightly. Cook the chicken on the rotisserie for about 1 to 1.5 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).

Baste with BBQ Sauce
During the last 20 minutes of cooking, baste the chicken with Joe's BBQ sauce every 5 minutes for a sticky glaze.
Serving

Rest and Serve
Once cooked, carefully remove the chicken from the rotisserie. Let it rest for 10 minutes before carving. Serve with extra BBQ sauce on the side.
