Season the Brisket
Rub the beef brisket with olive oil and season generously with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika. Make sure to coat all sides.

Sear the Brisket
In a large skillet or Dutch oven, heat a bit of olive oil over medium-high heat. Sear the brisket for about 4-5 minutes on each side until browned.

Cook the Brisket
Transfer the seared brisket into a slow cooker. Pour the beef broth over the brisket. Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours or until the meat is tender.

Slice or Chop the Brisket
Once cooked, remove the brisket from the slow cooker and let it rest for about 15 minutes. Slice against the grain for serving. If requested, chop the brisket into bite-sized pieces.

Serve the sliced or chopped brisket with optional sides such as mashed potatoes, steamed green beans, and cornbread.
