Cooking Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Pork
Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C). Season the pork shoulder with salt and black pepper generously. Place it in a roasting pan.
- 2
Cook the Pork
Cover the pan with aluminum foil and roast in the preheated oven for 4-5 hours, until the pork is tender and easily shreds with a fork.
- 3
Make the Carolina Sauce
In a saucepan, combine apple cider vinegar, ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper. Simmer over low heat for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- 4
Shred the Pork
Remove the pork from the oven and let it rest for about 15 minutes. Shred the pork using two forks and mix it with the Carolina sauce until well coated.
