Pork Preparation

Season the Pork
Rub the pork shoulder with salt, black pepper, paprika, and garlic powder. Let it sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes.

Cook the Pork
Place the seasoned pork in a slow cooker or smoker. Cook on low for 8-10 hours or until the meat is tender and easily shredded.

Shred the Pork
Remove the pork from the cooker and let it rest for a few minutes. Shred the meat using two forks.

Mix the Sauce
In a bowl, combine apple cider vinegar, ketchup, brown sugar, hot sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and red pepper flakes. Stir well to combine.

In a large bowl, combine the shredded pork with the Carolina sauce. Toss until the pork is well coated.
