Method

Pork Preparation

  1. 1

    Season the Pork

Rub the pork shoulder with salt, black pepper, paprika, and garlic powder. Let it sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes.

  2. 2

    Cook the Pork

Place the seasoned pork in a slow cooker or smoker. Cook on low for 8-10 hours or until the meat is tender and easily shredded.

  3. 3

    Shred the Pork

Remove the pork from the cooker and let it rest for a few minutes. Shred the meat using two forks.

Sauce Preparation

  1. 4

    Mix the Sauce

In a bowl, combine apple cider vinegar, ketchup, brown sugar, hot sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and red pepper flakes. Stir well to combine.

  2. 5

    Toss the Pork

In a large bowl, combine the shredded pork with the Carolina sauce. Toss until the pork is well coated.
