Pulled Pork

Sandwich Assembly

Method

Pulled Pork Preparation

  1. 1

    Cook the Pork

In a slow cooker, place the pork shoulder. Mix the smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper together, then rub the mixture over the pork. Add BBQ sauce and water into the slow cooker, ensuring the pork is well-coated. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or until the pork is tender and easily shredded.

  2. 2

    Shred the Pork

Once the pork is fully cooked, remove it from the slow cooker and let it rest for a few minutes. Use two forks to shred the pork into bite-sized pieces. Mix it back with the remaining sauce in the slow cooker.

Vegas Slaw Preparation

  1. 3

    Mix the Slaw Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the shredded cabbage, carrot, and red onion. In a separate bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, sugar, salt, and black pepper until smooth.

  2. 4

    Combine Slaw

Pour the dressing over the cabbage mixture and toss until everything is well-coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

Sandwich Assembly

  1. 5

    Assemble the Sandwich

To assemble the sandwich, take a slice of utani bread and add a generous portion of the pulled pork on top. Add a scoop of Vegas slaw on top of the pork. Top with another slice of utani bread to complete the sandwich.

  2. 6

    Serve with Chips

Serve the sandwich with a side of BBQ chips for added crunch and flavor.
