Method

Pulled Pork Preparation

  1. 1

    Season and Cook

In a slow cooker, season the pork shoulder with onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Pour in the water. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4 hours, until the pork is tender and easily shreds.

  2. 2

    Shred and Mix

Once cooked, remove the pork from the slow cooker. Shred the pork using two forks. Mix in the BBQ sauce until fully coated.

Vegas Slaw Preparation

  1. 3

    Prepare the Vegetables

Thinly slice the green cabbage, grate the carrots, and finely chop the red onion.

  2. 4

    Make the Slaw Dressing

In a large bowl, combine mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, sugar, salt, and black pepper. Whisk until well combined.

  3. 5

    Combine the Slaw

Add the sliced cabbage, grated carrots, and chopped red onion to the dressing. Toss until all vegetables are coated with the dressing. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving.

Sandwich Assembly

  1. 6

    Toast the Bread

Lightly toast the slices of utani bread until golden brown.

  2. 7

    Assemble the Sandwich

On one slice of toasted utani bread, pile a generous amount of pulled pork. Top with a scoop of Vegas slaw and sprinkle BBQ chips on top. Place another slice of bread on top to complete the sandwich.

  3. 8

    Serve

Cut the sandwich in half and serve immediately, with extra BBQ chips on the side.
