Pulled Pork Preparation

Prepare the Pork
Place the pork shoulder in a slow cooker.

Mix the Seasonings
In a small bowl, mix together the garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper.

Season the Pork
Rub the seasoning mix all over the pork shoulder.

Add Liquids
Pour apple cider vinegar and water over the seasoned pork. Add barbecue sauce on top.

Cook the Pork
Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 8 hours or until the pork is tender and shreds easily with a fork.

Shred the Pork
Once cooked, remove the pork from the slow cooker and shred it using two forks. Mix with the remaining juices.

Prepare the Buns
While the pork is cooking, prepare the buns by toasting them lightly if desired.

Assemble the Combo
Place a generous amount of pulled pork on the bottom half of each bun.

Add Toppings
Top the pulled pork with coleslaw, pickles, sliced jalapeños, and shredded cheddar cheese.

Finish Assembly
Place the top half of the bun on each assembled sandwich.
