Preparation

  1. 1

    Cook the Brisket

If not already cooked, smoke or slow-cook the brisket until tender. This typically takes about 10-12 hours at a low temperature (225°F or 107°C). Once cooked, chop the brisket into bite-sized pieces.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Burger Buns

Slice the burger buns in half and lightly toast them on a grill or in a skillet until golden brown. This will add flavor and prevent the buns from becoming soggy.

Assembly

  1. 3

    Assemble the Belt Buckle

On the bottom half of each toasted burger bun, add a generous portion of chopped brisket. Top with cheddar cheese, barbecue sauce, pickles, sliced onion, and lettuce. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.

  2. 4

    Finish the Burger

Place the top half of the bun on each assembly to complete the burger. Press down gently to secure the toppings.
