Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Ribs
Start by rinsing the pork spare ribs under cold water and patting them dry with paper towels. Remove the silver skin from the back of the ribs for better flavor absorption.
- 2
Make the Dry Rub
In a medium bowl, combine brown sugar, paprika, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly distributed.
- 3
Apply the Dry Rub
Generously apply the dry rub mixture all over the ribs, ensuring they are evenly coated. Wrap the ribs in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight.
Cooking
- 4
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 150°C (300°F).
- 5
Bake the Ribs
Place the ribs on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil, bone side down. Cover the ribs tightly with another piece of aluminum foil to keep them moist. Bake in the preheated oven for 2.5 to 3 hours.
- 6
Prepare the Sauce
While the ribs are baking, mix together the BBQ sauce, apple cider vinegar, and Worcestershire sauce in a small bowl.
- 7
- 8
Broil the Ribs
Increase the oven temperature to broil. Place the ribs back in the oven without the foil and broil for 5-7 minutes, or until the sauce is caramelized and bubbly.
Serving
- 9
Slice and Serve
Remove the ribs from the oven and let them rest for a few minutes before slicing between the bones. Serve with additional BBQ sauce on the side.
