Belt Buckle Base

Method

Preparing Smoked Brisket

  1. 1

    Seasoning the Brisket

In a small bowl, mix together salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika. Rub this seasoning mix all over the brisket, ensuring it is evenly coated.

  2. 2

    Smoking the Brisket

Preheat your smoker to 225°F (107°C). Add the smoked wood chips to the smoker. Place the seasoned brisket on the smoker grates and smoke for approximately 1.5 hours per pound, or until the internal temperature reaches 195°F (90°C).

  3. 3

    Resting the Brisket

Once cooked, remove the brisket from the smoker and let it rest for at least 30 minutes before slicing.

Assembling the Belt Buckle

  1. 4

    Preparing the Bun

While the brisket is resting, slice the buns in half and lightly toast them on a grill or in a toaster.

  2. 5

    Layering Ingredients

On the bottom half of each bun, layer a generous amount of smoked brisket slices. Top with cheddar cheese, pickles, and a drizzle of BBQ sauce.

  3. 6

    Completing the Belt Buckle

Place the top half of the bun over the loaded ingredients. Press down gently to ensure everything stays in place.
