Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Season the Pork

In a small bowl, combine salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika. Rub the seasoning mix all over the Boston Butt pork roast.

  2. 2

    Marinate

Place the seasoned pork roast in a large resealable bag or container. Pour in apple cider vinegar and water. Seal and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight for best results.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).

  2. 4

    Roast the Pork

Remove the pork roast from the marinade and place it in a roasting pan. Cover with foil and roast in the preheated oven for about 4-5 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 195°F (90°C) and the meat is tender.

  3. 5

    Rest and Shred

Remove the roast from the oven, cover with foil, and let it rest for 30 minutes. After resting, shred the pork using two forks.

Serving

  1. 6

    Serve

Serve the shredded Boston Butt with BBQ sauce on the side, and garnish with chopped fresh parsley if desired.
