Cooking Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steak

Remove the cap steaks from the refrigerator and let them rest at room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking. This helps them cook evenly.

  2. 2

    Season the Steak

Pat the steaks dry with paper towels. Rub each steak with olive oil, then season generously with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and fresh rosemary on both sides.

  3. 3

    Heat the Grill or Pan

Preheat a grill or heavy skillet over medium-high heat for about 5 minutes until hot.

  4. 4

    Cook the Steak

Place the steaks on the hot grill or pan. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side for medium-rare, then flip and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes. Adjust time based on desired doneness.

  5. 5

    Add Butter

During the last minute of cooking, add the butter to the pan or on the grill and baste the steaks with the melted butter for added flavor.

  6. 6

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steaks from the heat and let them rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing. This allows the juices to redistribute.

  7. 7

    Serve

Slice against the grain and serve the cap steaks with your choice of sides.
