Chicken Tenders
Method
Preparation and Cooking
- 1
Prepare the Chicken
Cut the chicken breast into strips about 1 inch wide. Season with salt and black pepper.
- 2
Make the Tempura Batter
In a bowl, mix the tempura batter mix with water until smooth. The consistency should be thick enough to coat the chicken.
- 3
Heat the Oil
In a deep frying pan or pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- 4
Dip and Fry
Dip each chicken strip into the tempura batter, allowing the excess to drip off. Carefully place the coated chicken in the hot oil. Fry in batches for about 4-5 minutes or until golden brown and fully cooked. Remove and drain on paper towels.
- 5
Cook the Fries
While the chicken is frying, cook the french fries according to package instructions or deep fry until golden and crispy.
- 6
Serve
Serve the chicken tenders hot with fries and your choice of ranch dressing or honey sriracha barbeque sauce.
