Spaetzle Ingredients

Method

Cooking Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Dough

In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, eggs, milk, salt, and nutmeg. Mix until you have a smooth batter. The consistency should be somewhat thick but pourable.

  2. 2

    Boil Water

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil over high heat.

  3. 3

    Cook the Spaetzle

Using a spaetzle maker or a colander, press the batter through into the boiling water. Cook until they rise to the top, about 2-3 minutes. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain.

  4. 4

    Sauté the Spaetzle

In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the cooked spaetzle and sauté for 5-7 minutes until golden brown, stirring occasionally.

  5. 5

    Garnish

Sprinkle with chopped fresh parsley before serving.
