Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prep the Steak

Remove the porterhouse steak from the refrigerator and let it rest at room temperature for about 30 minutes. This allows for even cooking.

  2. 2

    Season the Steak

Rub the olive oil all over the steak. Season generously with kosher salt, black pepper, and garlic powder on both sides. Sprinkle fresh rosemary on top.

  3. 3

    Preheat the Grill or Pan

Preheat your grill to high heat or heat a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat. Make sure it’s very hot before cooking the steak.

  4. 4

    Cook the Steak

Place the steak on the grill or skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for another 4-5 minutes for medium-rare, adjusting time for desired doneness.

  5. 5

    Add Butter

During the last minute of cooking, add butter to the skillet or on the grill and baste the steak with it for extra flavor.

  6. 6

    Rest and Serve

Remove the steak from the heat and let it rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing. This helps the juices redistribute. Serve with your favorite sides.
