Burger Ingredients

Caramelized Onions

Method

Caramelizing Onions

  1. 1

    Caramelize the Onions

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add sliced onions and a pinch of salt. Cook, stirring frequently, for about 20-25 minutes until the onions are soft and golden brown.

Making JB Sauce

  1. 2

    Prepare the JB Sauce

In a small bowl, mix together mayonnaise, ketchup, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, paprika, and salt and pepper to taste. Set aside.

Cooking the Burger

  1. 3

    Cook the Burger Patties

In a large bowl, season the ground beef with salt and black pepper. Form into two patties. Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium doneness.

  2. 4

    Add Cheese

In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of American cheese on each patty and cover the skillet or grill to melt the cheese.

Assembling the Burger

  1. 5

    Assemble the Burger

Spread the JB sauce on the bottom half of the burger bun. Place the cheese-topped patty on top, followed by a generous amount of caramelized onions and thin slices of dill pickles. Top with the other half of the bun and serve.
